RSS 2000 Electric Wedge Vehicle Barrier OVERVIEW:
The RSS-2000 is an all electric
wedge-type vehicle barrier that
is K-12 certified by the Department of State (tested to stop a 15,000
lb vehicle traveling at 50 MPH). All barriers can be operated by
110v, 220v, single or three phase. In the event of a catastrophic
power failure, it can be operated more than 200 times with a battery
back-up system. The RSS-2000's normal operating speed is less than
3 seconds with a less than 2 second Emergency Fast Operation mode
(option) regardless of temperature (-20f to +200f).
 The RSS-2000 has an anti-skid drive surface that flush mounts with the roadway leaving no problem for street sweepers or snowplows. The barriers simple “Dry Contact” controls can be operated by a keypad, proximity reader, hardwire remote control or computer controlled at an entry control point or a command center giving you man-in-the-loop control at all times.
The simple design of the RSS-2000
requires almost no maintenance even when there are high traffic volumes.
The key component of the barrier is an electromechanical actuator
and spring system that eliminates the high maintenance costs associated
with the hydraulic or pneumatic barriers on the market.

locations/sites with hydraulic
barriers installed are moving
ahead to remove them and replace
them with our electric barriers. After conducting a cost benefit
analysis, sites find they can save enough money through the logistical
life  cycle to justify the removal of the hydraulic barriers and the
installation of the RSS-2000.
The elimination of Hydraulics from the operating system dramatically reduces many problems routinely experienced by the end user. Not only is installation easier, faster, and cheaper, but the same can be said for the follow-on operation and maintenance costs.
