Electric Vehicle Barriers were introduced to the high security vehicle barrier industry by RSSI in 2004 when the RSS-2000 passed the K-12 crash test for the US Department of State certification.
Since that time, RSSI has been pro-active to responding to customers needs by manufacturing vehicle barriers that are designed for ease of installation, the ability to operate easily in all climatic conditions, and with minimal cost effective follow-on maintenance.
RSSI introduced the RSS-2015CT Cable Trap, Active Cable Barrier System in February 2005 as an innovative solution for securing taxiways or other large openings. No other barrier company can provide K-12 equivalent anti-ram protection across a 400 foot taxiway gap. Since the RSS-2015CT is designed using the same electro-mechanical operating system as the RSS-2000 and the same easy and economical operation and maintenance applies.
The RSS-3000 Electric Drop Arm Barrier was added to the RSSI product line in August 2006. The RSS-3000 is designed to stop or disable vehicles and provide significant protection for entry points. The RSS-3000 uses the same spring assisted, electro-mechanical operating system as the RSS-2000 and covers openings up to 15 feet wide.
In Jan 2007, RSSI developed an
innovative spring system that allows the RSS-2000 to be operated manually by one person. Ideal for customers who have no electricity at remote areas. Since this is a minor modification of the K-12 rated RSS-2000, it can be easily and cost effectively upgraded to a fully automated model when funding becomes available.
Coming Soon – A portable vehicle barrier that can be easily relocated due to changes in the local threat level or to allow for more flexibility in securing routes or areas for special event planning.
All RSSI Barriers Are Made In The USA And Are Patents Pending.
